We at Sunrise Tacome would like to invite you all to spend one of your summer days with us on August 1st, at our Tacoma Climate Justice Festival.
As Tacoma has faced climate change’s detrimental effects this past year, between heat domes focused over the Pacific Northwest in Summer 2021, and a particularly long smoke season in Summer 2020, we urge vocalization of the crisis that is only amplified by these events; fossil fuel expansion in the Port of Tacoma. We need strong regulations now.
We're inviting you to advocate for such necessary interim regulations, that fight against fossil fuel expansion here in Tacoma.
Join us from 4-7PM to enjoy local art, food, and community vendors as well as both local and statewide organizations driven by social justice and climate justice featured at booths throughout People’s Park in Hilltop.
We will also be launching our Tacoma Green New Deal platform, hearing from inspiring local activists, and enjoying live bands and musicians.
